Product Details
Celtic & Co. customers have claimed this cardigan as their favourite for many seasons – and with good reason.
Spun in Europe, the Shetland-style wool has a slightly fuzzy, rustic nature that gives it plenty of traditional charm and all the much-loved warmth of the original.
We've cut it to a boxy silhouette with dropped shoulders and trimmed it with coconut buttons. You'll find that the vertical cabling is just detailed enough to layer beautifully over both plain and patterned tops.

Care
Washing Instructions
Hand Wash only
When washing by hand, avoid twisting or wringing as this may damage the wool. Do not use fabric conditioner when washing. To remove excess water from the garment we recommend wrapping it in a towel and gently squeezing it before leaving the item to dry. Do not put on a spin cycle. Lay the product out flat to dry, do not hang your wool garments. Allow to dry naturally away from all artificial heat sources.
Care & Cleaning Products
Pilling
Clothing made from natural fibres can occasionally 'pill'. These little balls of fibre or 'pills' are created as the smaller fibres in the twist of yarn naturally shed with wear. This will lessen as you wash and wear your garment. Until then, they can be gently removed with our Pilling Comb.
Ratings & reviews
Write a reviewI have bought other items from you and been pleased with them. However the Shetland cardigan whilst it is nice colour and feel is also disappointing- it’s needs more strength around the neckline- it stretches out and doesn’t stay where it should- I’m not sure the knitting will hold out without some reinforcement

Thank you for leaving a review. If you wish to discuss this please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards.
I have two of these cardigans, and am a little disappointed that the wool isn't softer, but I used a fabric conditioner for wool and that helped a little. It is disappointing, however, that several of the buttons have cracked. I contacted Celtic about this and, very helpfully, they said that they would send me some replacement buttons. They never arrived, however, so I contacted them again, and they said the same thing, but the buttons never did arrive. I will have to try and source a new set.
I bought the Shetland Cardigan in Anemone cable. In the past i have bought this cardigan in other colours. I love the colour But the quality of the wool is nothing like my other cardigans from Celtic. It is rough and scratchy. The length however is better than the others (for me) because it is slightly longer than the ones i already have. I wonder if the quality has changed because Celtic may have changed where it is made. My others were made in Cornwall and are also thicker than this one.
The anemone cardigan is a beautiful colour and I love the hand knitted look. A agree with a previous review that the design of the neckline is not good. I will have to sew a tape across the back of the neckline and this should not be the case with a cardigan which cost over £100.

Dear Mrs Armitage Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that the Shetland Cardigan is not fully suitable for you. You are more than welcome to return to us for a full refund. If we can assist further, please contact us. Kind Regards Celtic & Co
Very rough and the neck was really wide. Have returned

We are sorry to hear that on this occasion the cardigan was not suitable for you. Once received our team will process your return. Kind regards Celtic & Co
The style of the cardigan is really lovely, the neck sits elegantly and the knit design is gorgeous. The only trouble is the wool. Like some previous comments the wool it really rough and itchy. I have other knits from Celtic and they are soft and comfortable. I am really disappointed in having to send it back. Please try to resolve as this is a really lovely design.

Dear Ms Proctor Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear that the Shetland Cardigan has not been suitable for yourself. As this cardigan is made from Pure New Wool, some customers do find this a rougher style of wool compared to Geelong or Merino. Once our returns team have processed the return an email will be sent to advise of the refund. If we can assist further, please contact us. Kind Regards Celtic & Co
Made in Romania. I know it states made in Europe, but when a cardigan is called the Shetland one assumes its made in the UK. Also for the cost of this cardigan I would have expected it to be of a better quality wool as mine is quite scratchy and out of shape.

Good afternoon we do try to support British manufacturing where ever possible but when its not we do have some trusted european suppliers. The cardigans are 100% pure new wool Spun in Europe, the Shetland-style wool has a slightly fuzzy, rustic nature that gives it plenty of traditional charm and all the much-loved warmth of the original. Kind regards
Having already purchased the cable boyfriend cardigan, I was very disappointed in this cardigan. It was rough, the sleeves were a little narrow and the neck too loose. Would most definitely have stretched. Not worth the money on this occasion therefore returned.
I have two of these cardigans and they are very nice and they keep me warm in the cold Wisconsin climate I live in.
Really warm and cozy and the navy is a lovely colour too. I usually buy a 16 in a jumper but the 14 is just right, big enough to be worn over other jumpers.
