Product Details

Our Popper Boots can be worn two ways - rolled down to reveal a fleecy contrast cuff or poppered up for extra warmth on chilly days. These versatile boots are handcrafted in Cornwall, from premium British sheepskin and feature double-stitched seams and tonal ridged soles. Choose from two heights and three neutral colours.

  •  100% sheepskin
  •  Height 43cm
  •  Made in Great Britain
  •  Machine Washable with Celtic Wool Wash

Available in:

Calf height: 29cm
Knee height: 43cm

Tip - Leave poppers done up when first trying them on. It will often feel as if the skin can't stretch around your calf if undone, however leaving them done up and slip your foot in like a normal boot, should over come this.

When trying on your footwear for the first time, it may feel very tight across your toes and instep. This is nothing to worry about, as within an hour or so of wearing, the boots or slippers will loosen off as the wool starts to bed down and mould to your feet. So do not order a size bigger than you usually wear, otherwise they will end up too big for you. If you know you are a half size – then we recommend buying the size down unless you regularly buy up a half size.

Machine Washable

We recommend that you wash boots & slippers on a maximum of 30 degree wool cycle, using ONLY  Celtic Wool Wash liquid that is suitable for automatic washing machines.

  • Do not soak
  • Do not use fabric conditioner
  • Do not use artificial heat to dry
  • Do not dry directly in Sunlight

I was astonished to receive my boots so quickly - I have to say it was a superbly efficient service. The boots are great - the first time I have actually had snuggly warm feet while playing outdoor boule, which in - 6C is saying something! My husband remarked that I would probably have to have them surgically removed when the warm weather returned! The boots are well made and a lovely colour (Mocca) which goes with virtually anything and they are smart enough to wear with a skirt/dress as well as jeans. Your advice to first try them on with all the buttons done up was very useful too because they are rather snug to begin with. I am very pleased with my purchase and the service you offer - I shall look forward to wearing my boots when the cold weather returns.

I have just ordered these, because they look gorgeously warm and stylish and I wanted black. I'll be wearing them in Scotland, where I need a boot that will survive all weathers - snow/rain/ice etc. If I spray them with the protector spray, will they be ok? I realise the Aqualamb boots are purpose-made so I should probably order them instead...but I prefer the style of these. Thank you!

I am rating this product a 5 as it is beautiful. BUT I was a little shocked when the boots arrived today. I have skinny calves etc but found the top 3/4 popper buttons just about 1 cm too tight. I spent c 10 mins trying to do them up with them open to no avail - but then succeeded in getting my feet to slide in with them closed. Am keeping on the strength of their beauty & the Celtic statement that the intensely full sheepskin lining will settle down allowing that extra space. Be that as it may I still feel Celtic you could add that extra 1 / 1.5 cms along the calf as there's snug & snug... Hopefully though the calf area will also settle .. I bought size. 5 & sole is definitely spacious but not overly as to be a problem. Apart from this feedback though this is a truly beautiful product.

Hi Roisin, We do recommend you leave the poppers done up to get your leg in, sheepskin is wonderful but not very elastic! The skin around the leg will bed down the same as the foot, but try wearing them around the house for an hour or so and see how they feel. Glad you like them though :)
