Waxed Cotton Cape

I can comfortably fit into a small but also range into medium, so I ordered based on the size guide and this cape DOES run large. I'm happy with that, because it means it comes down further and will cover any bags or such that I might be carrying with me at any given point in time. I'd also feel comfortable taking this hiking with me, which is nice. But if you're looking for a closer fit for just getting from point A to point B rather than actually walking around in the rain doing things, you might want to order a size down.

I really wanted to love this cape, British made, love a waxed cottom product. The quality is great but it just doesn't quite sit right. Looks great on the model displayed but the photo doesn't quote the model's height etc and the size they are wearing, which would be useful please I found the side press studs which give a sleeve effect then restrict being able to fasten the cape, put the hood up or fasten the storm flap (which could be a better fit to truly be a storm flap) without it riding up around you, which if you were doing that in the rain, your clothes would end up wet before you've managed to fasten everything. Although based on customer feedback, it says comes up large and to maybe size down, I felt I could have sized up and perhaps that might feel better and look/hang more like the pictures A few minor tweaks I think would make it perfect but sadly mine is on its way back

This cape is well worth the investment. If you travel a lot & don’t want the faff of carrying a coat it’s perfect. It also means I can wear my lovely chunky jumpers and not have to remove them to get my coat on. I was going to order large, as I’m heavy busted and find coats pull uncomfortably in my normal size, but with the cape this wasn’t a problem. I managed to obtain a medium, thanks to an email from customer support when one came into stock. I did hesitate at first as I thought a return could be a hassle but was reassured by Celtic still offering free returns. I’m glad I went ahead as it fits beautifully & I know it’s going to be so useful. I’m even thinking it could be worn when I’m out on my bicycle as it’s cotton with a cotton lining, so easy to breathe in. I wish more manufacturers used all natural materials. Thank you Celtic.

I had hoped that this cape would be the answer to my prayers, being waterproof AND with a hood. But sadly, due to my lack of height and long-term problems with my shoulders after an operation on my spine, I just found that I could not cope with the volume of fabric. The problem lies with me, not the cape!

Simple adore this cape, I uhm and ahh about it for far too long, and then it sold out , had to wait months for new stock to arrive. Its perfect for wet weather, especially when on the Moor or beach with doggo and the rain and wind are just not playing ball. The hood stays up in the gales that we have here in Devon, yes, could do with being a tad longer, but seriously nothing will keep you dry in drifting rain. The one popper on the sleeve keeps coming apart, that is my only issue.

I love it! I’m only 5’ tall and weigh 47.5kg so I’m not very big. I like layers and it’s great either over a chunky knit or my favourite wool jacket if the weather is a bit damp. I also love the fact that if I’m shopping my crossbody bag is hidden away inside my cape and away from others. Not worn it in proper rain yet but I have no doubt it’ll impress me further.

I purchased about 5 years ago. Great product. Thinking about a second one. This one for my daughter. It is still like new from 5 years ago
