Care

Hand wash only. When washing by hand, avoid twisting or wringing as this may damage the wool. Do not use fabric conditioner when washing.

To remove excess water from the garment we recommend wrapping it in a towel and gently squeezing it before leaving the item to dry. Do not put on a spin cycle.  Lay the product out flat to dry, do not hang your wool garments. Allow to dry naturally away from all artificial heat sources.

Beautiful jumper, worth every penny
It's quite light but still warm and the colours are beautiful. This is my first jumper from this company but will definitely buy more.
I'm 165cm and 79kg, L is a nice and oversized fit for me ( just how I like my jumpers)
It's not overly soft my I don't find it scratchy either.
Definitely in my top 3 favourite jumpers already!

Lovely jumper, liked this new colour way and did not disappoint on arrival. I found it true to size and not too itchy. Very happy

Nice quality jumper. Despite almost being put off by other reviews regarding the colour. I found the colour to be exactly as shown in the pictures. It was the last small size available in the sale. I hesitated initially, as again other reviews suggested the jumper came up large for them. I have had other Celtic jumpers that have been on the large size, but not this one! It fits perfectly. I am very pleased with my purchase. It would have been too expensive for me at £145 but great I could buy it in the sale.

Pleased with my Christmas jumper. Cosy and warm.

Not what I would expect of a $200+ sweater. Photo is misleading. The bottom ribbed hem is rolled under and doesn’t show. (Navy sweater has light blue hem) I ordered XS, S& M sizes. Kept the XS (I’m 5’8” 135#) even tho’ the hem fell below my bum. there’s negligible difference between the sizes (less than 1”)! I cut 5” off the bottom and re knit the hem. Disappointingly poor finishing at neckline. I kept it because I love the pattern and colors and know how to fix things. Took weeks after my returns were received to have my card credited.

will you be getting more of the Donegal oatmeal sweater in a size extra small I really love the turquoise colour

I ordered a medium, but a large was shipped to me instead... it was absolutely swimming on me. I was thinking of ordering a medium again, since I very much like the pattern, but after reading the reviews, it sounds like it may still be too large. It's a shame the company sent me the wrong size to start as I'm not sure I want to go through the trouble of possibly having to return it again. So disappointing as this is my first experience ordering through this company.

Lovely quality jumper. Lovely colours. Nice loose fit.

I bought smaller than I normally wear, and it is long in the sleeves (but I am used to that in sweaters) and still slouchy. It is a lovely sweater , easy to wear and despite being light in weight, extremely warm. I have worn it a number of times now and it has stayed in shape. I am delighted with it.

I am delighted with the jumper. The design and colours are distinctive and quality excellent. It is a joy to wear.

Smart looking jumper but oatmeal is more grayish than I realised. Jumper is also a bit scratchy but perhaps after a wash it will soften.

J

The jumper was very big and the wool very coarse and rough not like previous ones. Colour also much duller than in picture. Very disappointed with quality overall.

A striking jumper that is so soft, comfy and not scratchy at all that you can wear it next to the skin without a cami. I bought the Pebble colourway first and was so impressed that I went on to buy the navy with orange trims too. They wash well and will last me for years so worth the money.

I'm frustrated about this purchase for two reasons: first, the sweater was too long, and itchy. I wanted to love but decided to return. Second, I made the return four weeks ago now and have still not received a refund. Supposedly it needs to be processed back in the UK before a refund is possible - not a reasonable system in this day and age if that processing time takes more than a month! Cannot recommend.

Generous fitting - I know it is supposed to be casual

Another brilliant jumper, warm, cosy, lovely colours and well made so it will last. Thank you.

I was very surprised by this jumper! I’ve admired the style for years and tried some on in the shop in Cornwall. I thought they were warm, soft, heavyweight jumpers but this one is not. I ordered it as I like the colours and it was reduced. I like it and I have kept and worn it but as other reviewers have said it’s light to medium weight, the wool is almost hard, indeed I checked and rechecked the label to see if it was cotton/ linen! So, not what I was expecting but I’m keeping it and it’s been admired already.

I love the colours and the pattern, but the stitches are not tight and the jumper is stretchy and bagged on its first wearing. I found the wool scratchy rather than soft and will need to sew a strip around the neck to stop it driving me crazy with itching. I will keep it because of the beauty of the pattern but I am really disappointed with the stretchy, sacky fit and the scratchiness, especially around the neck.

I ws really disappointed in this jumper. I have had 2 previous Donegal jumpers which have been a lovely quality, close knit garment that washed well and fitted well. This one was a looser stitch and so huge it did not hang well. When I laid my old one over the top there was a good 2 inches spare all round, so that would have made the chest circumference about 8 inches bigger! Even the neck was loose, sleeves and body too long. I had to return and won't be ordering another as the quality has obviously changed. You have lost a regular customer.

I bought one of these jumpers last year and love it. Unfortunately the one I have just received is very disappointing. The colours are lovely (I ordered sage) but the jumper is very thin and the texture is rough rather than soft. The other problem is that the jumper is huge! I ordered Small by mistake (my last one was extra small) however I don’t think that fully explains the massive size difference.

Really lovely jumper. Nice length in arms and body. I haven't washed this yet but my last Donegal jumper washed really well. Sizing is generous but perfect.

I have returned this for a refund, though have had no acknowledgment as yet.

Love the colours of this beautiful jumper which feels comfortable and light in wearing

Y

The stitching around the yoke was poor - however I like the jumper so will fix it myself.

K

Really beautifully crafted jumper. Such lovely colours and the styling is so "now". The wool is soft and not at all itchy. It comes up a little large but I love my Jumpers to be loose fitting.

Unfortunately I returned this jumper the day after it arrived as it was a little too big for me. I was also very surprised that it had an extremely strong smell of wax, just like a new waxed jacket, do all your Donegal jumpers smell like this?

K
Kitty Parker

A lovely sweater in a really nice range of subtle blues and turquoises. Like other purchases from Celtic & Co it's a stylish design and good quality wool, but just as importantly it's not too hot. 50 years ago we needed double-rib fishermen's ganseys to do our homework in the bedroom, but thick jumpers tend to be impractical indoors now.

I have just received my new statement donegal jumper which bears no relation to the colour in the photos. I ordered oatmeal fleck/ icelandic, it should be pale oatmeal but is actually a muddy brown grey. I shall be sending it straight back. Very disappointed. Also the wool isn’t as good quality as it used to be, it is much thinner. I have always been pleased with them in the past, such a shame

C
Caroline Cartwright

I bought my usual size and it is plenty big enough. It's a lovely jumper and keeps you really warm. The quality is excellent. I would purchase more, but it is on the expensive side so only one a year!

Lovely jumper - really pleased. What I'm particularly pleased about is the neckline. In the description it said 'turtle neck'. Turtle necks are usually too high for me. But, the picture said 'normal neck'! :-) And it was. It's more a 'cold Spring' jumper than a 'depths of winter' jumper and looking forward to wearing it from March.
