Injecting a little extra attitude into a long-standing favourite, our popper boots offer two chic looks in one super-cosy package. Hand crafted in Cornwall from 100% British sheepskin with double-stitched construction, these boots can be ordered in a calf or knee length.

Roll them down to reveal the fleecy cuff inside, or turn them up and fasten the poppers to keep your legs toasty on frosty days. The tonal sole features a ridged texture to improve grip in challenging conditions, and a Celtic & Co. flag at the back lends a signature signoff to each pair.

      • 100% British sheepskin
      • Double Stitched Seams
      • Machine washable with Celtic Wool Wash
      • Colours: Spice, Mocca, Black
      • Made in Britain
      • Height - 43cm

      Available in:

      Calf height: 29cm
      Knee height: 43cm

Tip - Leave poppers done up when first trying them on. It will often feel as if the skin can't stretch around your calf if undone, however leaving them done up and slip your foot in like a normal boot, should overcome this.

When trying on your footwear for the first time, it may feel very tight across your toes and instep. This is nothing to worry about, as within an hour or so of wearing, the boots or slippers will loosen off as the wool starts to bed down and mould to your feet. So do not order a size bigger than you usually wear, otherwise they will end up too big for you. If you know you are a half size – then we recommend buying the size down unless you regularly buy up a half size.

      Care

30 degree gentle machine wash. Put the boots in a pillowcase to avoid drum marks from the washing machine. Machine wash on a 30 degree wool cycle with Celtic Wool Wash. This is the only wool wash that has been tried and tested over many years on our sheepskin footwear, so while others are available we can’t be sure that you will get the same results if you use them.

These tall popper boots are fabulous. The family and I have been wearing Celt boots for about 20 years now. I’ve had lots of styles and they have all been great quality and lasted ages. These new tall boots are my absolute favourites, they are so warm all the way up to your knees….I don’t have particularly thin legs and they fit just fine…and as with all Celt boots they are always snug to start with and loosen with wear down the years. I just love them, might get them in another colour next year. Thank you Celtic and Co.

Stunning boots, supreme quality and fit, warm and toasty. Quick post and beautifully packaged. Never thought of wearing with poppers undone but after reading other reviews might try this too.

These boots are absolutely stunning and the quality seems to be top-notch. They also arrived quickly from across the pond to the USA expediently. I ordered these on 28 October, they arrived 4 November-just 6 days later. I purchased the color, Spice while still available. Spice is the same color as Chestnut in Ugg's. However, the quality of these amazing boots are far superior to that brand. A bit of sizing information: Follow the guidelines here to find your size. I normally wear a size 8 in the other brand, Celtic & Co. chart suggested size 7 and that's what I purchased. They fit perfectly! I am also following the guidelines here, which state to leave the snaps closed up the side of the boot for several days after receiving. I did find the calf section slightly snug, but, just slightly, and that's exactly what the description states will occur. So, for sizing I highly suggest you follow the guidelines here for fit. I was a bit hesitant given the difference but they fit perfectly. Lastly, don't worry when you receive your shipping invoice! It said they shipped size 5, and my heart skipped a beat until I remembered British sizing is different to US sizing. Size 5 in British made boots is equal to a US size 7.5-8. I will update this review to report on wear and condition after using these for awhile. With all that said, just buy them! Yes, you *need* these in your closet. They are beautifully made, gorgeous boots, and I absolutely highly recommend them!

Thank you for your thorough review and feedback, pleased to read you are pleased with the boots. Kind regards.

I have had a pair of these for years and I wear them as ‘slippers’ rather than as outdoor boots. We live in an old house which can be quite draughty, so these are the perfect choice to keep those calf height chills at bay. They have lasted exceptionally well.

Purchased my first pair in 2017 in Mocca £210 and still gorgeous warm and thick sheepskin beautiful dark brown - they have got better with age. About to buy them in black and pray the quality is the same and hoping they don't arrive badly packaged like the last purchase I had to return

Perfect! I have been wearing this style for years now and am on my third pair. Great for any type of leg shape & the poppers add a Zhivago vibe as the boots can be worn at various lengths. I used to wear the full length without poppers but really do not find these add too much bulk. Worth every penny

Lovely and comfortable and very warm, just not ideal for walking any distance due to the flat sole.

I have bought one pair of Celtic sheepskin boots in the past, and the fit was great. I bought these full-length popper ones to keep me warm during weekly outdoor meetings. Sadly, I will have to return them. They are intended for people with the narrowest legs. Mine really aren't particularly muscular or broad, but there is no chance of closing the poppers - the boots are simply to narrow.

Good afternoon Judith. Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear you have found the Popper Boots - Knee Height unsuitable for you. The sheepskin will relax with wear, however we will pass your feedback onto our product design team. In the meantime, should you require any assistance with our free returns service, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service team. Kind regards, Celtic & Co.

Purchased these after having the non popper ones, returned as I didn’t like the extra bulk due to the poppers, made my legs look wide. However the boots are perfect just not for me unfortunately and I will probably buy some more non poppers, wish they had the chestnut shade in both styles.

I have owned my popper knee high boots for 14 years machine wash so well I’m about to order another pair in a different colour they are still as good as the day I bought them I practically live in them in the winter.

Wanted to love these boots but really couldn't get on with them. Very odd design. Foot area felt way to "baggy" and I have wider than average feet. Despite ordering my usual size my feet fell out of the foot area when I walked so didn't feel safe. The leg area was a bit on the tight side too so the poppers didn't sit flat. I have a 42cm calf so the boot was too narrow for me. Odd sizing, the leg width doesn't feel in proportion to what feels like an overly large foot area. Also, boots were not "finished" around the edged, just cut without a nice binding/trim. Sadly I had to send back for a refund. Ordered 14th March, received on 17th & returned on 19th. Returns were simple, downloadable prepaid label on Royal Mail website. The boots were delivered back to company on 20th March. 5 days later (25th) I received an email to say refund was processed and will show within 7 working days which will be anytime up to 5th April (today is the 28th and it is yet to show). This is much slower than some other companies I've used where my funds have been back in my account within a few days of the product having arrived back with them. Would I order again from Celtic and CO? Probably not.

We are sorry to hear that on this occasion the boots were not suitable for you. We aim to have all returns processed within 7-14 days. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Kind regards Celtic & Co
