Derby Boots

I’m technically a size 5.5 UK size so ordered size down 5/38. I have narrow ankles though am broad at the toes with high instep (a struggle to find boots I like that fit. The fit here is great, the sale price is reasonable which persuaded me & there were no black or tan alternatives. I dislike this colour. Looking at the pictures online they seemed they might be more rich dark brown, they’re not, very sadly I will be sending them back. The boots are great the colour (& regular pricing not). I would definitely order a black or a tan.
I’m disappointed with apparent discontinuation of this boot, will these boots (not this colour!) be returning?

I like the woodsman boots nearest in appearance although suede & sheepskin, I & don’t want hot feet.

I took the advice of previous reviewers and ordered a size 38 rather than my usual 39 and the boots fit perfectly with plenty of room. I absolutely love these boots, the quality is excellent and the style is great with trousers and skirts. They do need wearing in, the leather was a little unforgiving on the ankles to begin with but are wearing in nicely. I can see these boots lasting many years. Delivery was quick too, absolutely delighted with my first purchase from Celtic & Co!

I was so excitedI purchased these boots in black, after searching for ages to find a pair that would fit me, as i have wide calves. I was absolutely crushed when I received them, as they were not as expected at all. The description says there is a 'tongue', there is not. The entire boot is moulded, with no way for adjustment, and the laces serve no function other than decorative, so when I tried to do the zip up, i could barely draw it halfway. Also the leather is not 'buttery soft' as most of the other reviews, they are very stiff, and I know they would have pinched had i been able to use them. Very disappointed.

I have a brown pair of the same boots. The difference with these boots is that the shaft is higher which I like. They are true to size. My last pair were on the big side - same size. I don’t think the leather is quite as soft and as good quality as the first pair but they may change with wear. Quality perhaps not so good. I do however recommend them and really like them. On the down side there is no proper shoe box and with boots I expect a shoe box so I can store them. I have boots for all other Celtic boots so why not these, particularly at the original price. That is poor with any boots.

I have the black,brown and tan ones of these Derby boots and they are super! I saw that you now had the oxblood. I couldn't resist and sent for them. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. They are nothing like the original ones. They are higher in the leg and really hurt my ankle,infact it rubbed one so badly it bled. I actually looked at the description again to ensure they were leather,it says they are. Very disappointed and wouldn't recommend the oxblood. I assume that there must be a different supplier to the originals.

I purchased the Derby boots in tan, they are darker in colour than I expected ,on the website they looked lighter, that said I’m still delighted with them they are very comfortable the size is spot on (size 5 E fitting) enough wiggle room for feet, knowing they will soften and stretch over time I will be able to wear a thicker sock. I bought the green suede Woodcutter boots a few years ago and only just replaced the sole because of so much wear I literally live in them! Very pleased customer, thank you.☺️

I was delighted when I saw oxblood as the new colour in these boots. Basically red! I have waited soo long. I bought the black Derby boots when you first introduced them, followed by the brown and a little later the tan. I love them all, so comfortable, soft supple leather. The black pair are well used but still looking good. Yes, my order went in for oxblood very quickly, even with a little wait before they were due in stock. Delighted when they arrived. Opened my parcel, lovely colour. Rather stiff leather, certainly not the same as my previous three pairs. How disappointed l became when I tried them on. Not only was the leather stiff, l couldn't zip them up! The leg is narrower than before and because the laces are purely decorative and non functioning, the width cannot be adjusted at all. So sad these lovely leather boots have been altered by using alternative leather and sizing. Reluctantly returned and refunded. If its not broken, don't fix it

A lovely looking boot, unfortunately for someone with a high instep this isn't a boot for me!! Despite taking the laces out still couldn't get my foot in, but like Cinderella's sisters!!!! Believe part of the problem is that the tongue is attached to the main part of the boot so reduced the flexibility of extending the opening the boot. Deeply disappointed. I have returned the boots. Another issue I have along side the sizing is that width considerations aren't given! Can't be the only one with a wide foot as well as a high instep!!

My favourite boots ever! Super comfy and extremely stylish. I have 2 colours now. I’m normally a size 42 and purchased a 41 but they fit perfectly. I find it difficult to find comfort and style in one boot but I found the flat Derby boot. Please do not stop making these!

Beautiful boots, but the 39 was too large (too long) and so returned. I usually take a size 6 and I would say this was a size too big.

Love these boots. Was quite annoyed when I went back to look at them on the day I received to see how the laces went, they had been reduced by 20% :( But I guess this is how things go.

As advised by your website I ordered a size smaller than normal and these boots are perfect I love them! They are really comfy and look great.

Love these boots! Comfortable right away, could wear them all day without breaking them in. Supple leather, lovely colour, nice and high over the toe, so no pinching.

Very comfortable boots that definitely come up large. Would advise ordering a size down. Good quality and built to last.

Found these boots true to size (39) and soooo comfortable! They look great too.

Beautiful boots that will be very comfortable. A little tight over the foot with insoles but that will go away once they're worn in. I expect these boots to last for years. Customer service was excellent. I was worried about sizing and they went to the trouble og getting insole measures for me. For anyone interested they are: Size EU 39 internal length APPROX = 25cm and internal width APPROX 8cm Size EU 40 internal length APPROX = 26cm and internal width APPROX 8.25cm Size EU 41 internal length APPROX = 27cm and internal width APPROX 8.5cm I got size 42 and they fit my 27cm foot. If the pattern holds they are 28cm internally. 

Bought these for the missus. She eats through boots and has a uk size 9. Super rare to find her spores that fit. She loves these boots. Finds them very comfy. My only concern is at this price point you’d be hoping for a sole that can be replaced, which I’m not sure it can be

These are indeed beautiful boots made from very soft leather. The laces take a bit of adjustment to get the best fit and they do come up large so if you buy your usual size there's plenty of room for thick socks. I hope they age well but the softness of the leather makes me a bit worried about how they will wear, and I hope in time they can be re-heeled but the heel looks kind of moulded so I'm not sure. Anyway, lovely lovely boots that have received many compliments!

these wonderful boots are indeed on the large side, but I see that as a great plus because I insert to lots of woollen insoles, which makes these boots super warm and super comfortable! This is my second pair and I have tweaked them!

My favourite boots ever, but unfortunately, after wearing them only twice, the zip broke.

These Derby boots are the most exquisite boots I've ever bought. The leather is of the highest quality and the laces are just beautiful. I bought a size 6 which fits well although I'm usually a 6.5. They have the most stunning shine. Real quality. I'm delighted.

I kept these for a week before admitting that they were just too big. They are truly beautiful and very high quality leather. But: the depth over the toes is very big; the foot is overly wide, therefore slipping about; and the height at mid calf was too long to wear with jeans, too short to wear with skirts. If all I wanted was to have a pair of boots to lovingly stroke, perfect.

Very disappointed with this boot for the money. The leather is very thin and peeled off . It also cracked. I have bought many leather products and have not experienced such poor quality. Was also very disappointed at the level of Customer Service. I was basically told I hadn't looked after the boot, which I found insulting as I do look after my shoes very well. Shall not be buying from Celtic & Co. again.

These are well made, good quality boots. Unfortunately I had to return them as I have thick ankles and found them tricky to pull on but that’s a failing of mine not the boots! Excellent customer service and a refund was received very promptly.

Beautiful leather boots, very soft and comfortable. They look and feel sturdy enough to last and justify the cost. I am usually between size 6.5-7 but the 6 was spot on.
