Celtic Duffle Coat

Beautiful quality but so oversized and enormous I have never been able to wear it. A complete waste of money. I am a UK 10-12 and this is an XS and still way too big.

One of my favourite items in my wardrobe. When the temperature drops it’s the only thing I reach for. A pure joy to wear🥰

I received my coat this morning, and I love the colour walnut. As previously stated it runs a little large, but sheepskin coats are not supposed to be fitted. I toyed with the idea of returning it and sizing down, but the fit is perfect on my shoulders and across the back. It is heavy and it’s built to keep the cold out.I absolutely love it, my Christmas present from me to me.

My first Celtic and co coat was the anthracite version of this 10 years ago, and it’s still going strong. I have just treated myself to the navy version in the Black Friday sale. OMG it is gorgeous. Much richer colour than most of photos suggest, not the drab grey/blue depicted at all. Itching to buy the walnut too but will have to wait a bit as also bought the Toscana coat in berry (amazing!) Great service as always. Runs a bit big so I went with the small although I am usually a 12. Easily fits a cosy jumper under too. Quite a heavy weight sheepskin compared to the Toscana, but it’s for horrible weather (Scotland!) so that’s no bad thing!

I had looked at this coat many times, always thinking that I could not justify spending so much on one piece of clothing, but as I get older the winters seem to be getting colder and last week there was an amazing 30% discount offer for the navy coat, so I ordered it. The coat is everything other reviews have said. It arrived promptly, while I was away and, on a fairly cold day, I felt warm within five minutes of putting it on. I thought it was heavy, but the small size fitted me well, with plenty of room for a jumper, should I need to wear one. It went down to my knees and the sleeves were a bit long, but I could accept that. What made it impossible to keep were the pockets. I could not reach them properly as they were too low for me. So, with great sadness, I have returned it, hoping that Celtic will provide a petite size soon.

This is a lovely coat. I imagine for outdoor activity it would keep you lovely and warm. I sized down and it fitted fine. However as I am only just over 5 ft tall I found the length of it too much for me. I generally only buy three-quarter length coats because of my height. So it is with much regret I returned it. I can only hope you do a shorter version soon!

Great customer service, responsive, friendly and helpful. Like others I initially ordered size small, I am normally small/ medium depending on make . I returned the coat and am now delighted with the Xsmall size.

Thought about this coat for weeks due to the price point. I am SO pleased that I finally took a deep breath and purchased. It is sumptuously soft, cosy and warm. I was expecting it to be heavier, but it isn’t at all heavy or cumbersome which helps it to hang beautifully. I know I will never regret buying it (particularly in January!). Thank you Celtic.

Bought it last year. Wonderfully warm in an extremely cold New York City winter. I got compliments every day on the navy color. The angled zipper is a bit awkward but keeps me warm. My only complaint is the weight. The hanger it comes with broke immediately. It’s hard to find a strong enough hanger!

A beautiful cosy coat which is actually quite lightweight despite appearances. I looked at it for quite a long time before purchasing it but I am so glad that I did. It's a perfect winter coat. Lovely quality and I bought a small size when I normally would buy a medium. It is perfect so be aware that it is big on size.

The coat is very warm and cosy. My complaint relates to the buttons that attach the hood to the coat. Two buttons have dropped off and a third is about to. I have had to reattach them myself using special thread and adding an additional button on the inside. It has not been an easy task. Celtic were not forthcoming at all when I contacted them. I was disappointed and wondered how many other customers had experienced this. I felt that for the price of the coat the workmanship in attaching the hood should have been thought through better than it is.

Absolutely gorgeous coat and was exactly what I expected - a lovely soft taupe colour and squidgy leather. I bought a size down after reading reviews. I’m usually M-L depending. Fitted great but snug ie no thick sweater would fit underneath. But then you don’t really need a thick sweater under a sheepskin coat do you? What I didn’t like was that it has a zip as well as toggles. I expected toggles as it’s a duffle coat. I had missed the zip Mentioned in description. I felt it was unnecessary and in any case I could not zip it up without help from my husband . Too expensive to put up with the unnecessary zip so it had to be returned. The detachable hood was a plus point as I’m not keen on hoods. Hope this helps.

I’ve just realised that I seem to have missed reviewing the duffel coat I bought circa 2011! It is still treasured, yet practical. The newer versions look very similar. My purchase was tan sheepskin with a grey inner and I thought it’d keep me warm when all else failed! I have only worn it a few times in extreme cold, but when clad in this, I’m warm. My ‘old’ coat is pretty heavy compared with puffa coats, but I much prefer the natural warmth. Thankfully, the moth which has eaten most of my carpets seems to have avoided my lovely sheepskin (thus far 🤞).

I'm a US size 2 - 4 and 5'2". The XS is slightly too big but I'm keeping it anyway. It still looks nice on. The length falls just at the top of my knees which is good, otherwise it would have been returned. It's a wonderful coat.

A sumptuous coat which felt really cosy and warm. However, I have had to return this as, despite ordering an Extra Small size, unfortunately, it was far too big. Had it fitted I would have been delighted to have kept it.

Lovely coat, for a particular event I had to send it back as it was far too large for me. I am a average size 8, I ordered the Small size. I had a problem printing the returns label, so after two days Celtic and Co, emailed me one. I was unable to exchange for the smaller size, as you have to place and pay for the order up front and I didn't have a spare £1000+ to hand. I'm still waiting to receive the refund which apparently can take 2 weeks and after all, it is christmas. I would recommend the coat, it is the kind of coat which you buy once in a lifetime and keep forever.

Love this beautiful duffle coat. It is very stylish but casual you can where anywhere. Very warm and cosy. Expensive but should last a lifetime. Size Medium was perfect for me a size 12-14

I have just received my order of a sheepskin duffle coat! I would like to tell you I am absolutely thrilled with it. The quality is outstanding, the comfort is so snuggly and warm, the colour is lovely, the fit for me is just right. I love it. I’ve always had a soft spot for snuggly duffle coats and this one is certainly no exception! And a surprise gift of a cashmere scarf that is so soft. Thank you! I absolutely love this coat. I’ve been looking at it for a couple of years but couldn’t quite bring myself to spend so much in a coat, but after a particularly bad year I thought it was time to treat myself and I’m glad I did. The coat will last for ever and so warm and comfortable in this awful weather. It does come up very large. I’m a size 12 M&S and had to exchange the medium for a small which fits me perfectly with plenty of room for thick jumpers

I'm really pleased with this. The inside fleece is trimmed so that it is plenty warm enough without being too bulky (which my old sheepskin is). I usually buy a 10 but I am busty so sometimes 10 can be a bit tight. However I bought Small (8/10) and it is big enough even with a thick sweater. Worth the investment. It will last for ever and can be worn on all occasions.

This coat is beautiful, it a little on the heavy side, I have owned shearlings that were more lightweight . Beside that it is well made I am sure I will have it forever I purchased the med and glad I did I normally wear a large or 12, I listen to other reviews and ordered the med. which still give me room . Don't hesitate if your able buy it!

I have wanted this coat for a couple of years ,because of the price I’ve had to wait! I do not think it is expensive for what it is but it’s justifying buying it! I am so pleased I have it’s absolutely beautiful a bit sad the weather is so mild so I cant wear it yet but hopefully soon will. It’s a perfect fit for me I have many Celtic jumpers (size med I am a 12/14) but the coat is just right.

I live in Calgary, AB and my new duffle coat arrived the first day of snow (yesterday Oct 23). It was this morning -10C and I was toasty warm wearing it. There is sort of a collar, which is like having a nice warm scarf around your neck, but not to close, that it might feel stifling. Additionally, the hood is roomy, and would go over a hat, if need be. I am 5' 3", and I wear a size US 12. I'm 15 inches across the shoulders and back, but 44" around the chest. I was concerned about how the arms would fit around my biceps, as that is where I put my weight and they are quite bulky. So, to accommodate my chest size and my bulky biceps, I bought a large. It was the right size for me. In past, I've bought a large in a wool coat and I required a seamstress to add fabric to the upper arms, so it would not be too tight for me. I wore a bulky turtle neck sweater today under my new duffle coat and it fit fine. I did not feel like the arms were so tight my circulation would be cut off. And of course, as the coat is more worn, the pile will settle and it will be a little more roomy for me, which would be fine. I've wanted a sheepskin long coat for years, and just over a week ago, I did an online search for one and came across Celtic and Co. I'm so happy I found this site. I would recommend this coat. I expect to get years of wear from it.

I bought this coat a couple of years ago, during the pandemic, and absolutely love it. Ever since I watched Heartbeat on BBC years ago I lusted after a sheepskin duffle like the ill fated doctor wore. I saw many coats over the years, I even visited Scotland and looked there (I live in Vancouver) but never saw one I felt compelled to buy. This is it and I do get compliments from strangers every time I wear it.
