Easy to style and even easier to love, our tartan skirt is back for the season with a brand new shape.

Cut with an A-line silhouette that hits just above the knee, it's designed in pure-wool cloth woven in West Yorkshire and sewn by one of the last remaining traditional kiltmakers in Scotland.

Full lining offers silken comfort against the skin, while the side zip preserves the outline of this modern piece. All it needs is your choice of chunky boots and an oversized knit.

I purchased a skirt, thinking it was a slim skirt as the photos show. It is much more of an a-line skirt with an odd wideness at the hips. I am going to take to a tailor and see if I can get it altered so that it is more of a pencil-skirt shape

Really wanted to love this skirt. The fabric and quality was beautiful but the skirt was a really weird shape over the hips sticking out like bat wings. Sadly item returned. If it had been in the sale I would have been tempted to keep and have it altered but the overall cost was too much at full price. So disappointed

I ordered this skirt in the 10 and the 12 because of the comments about the skirt being a bit tight to zip up. I agree; it is a little tight in the 10, but the12 is too big everywhere. I love everything else about this skirt, the quality is great, so I have kept it. I'm tempted to get another colour!

Absolutely love my new skirt !

Lovely timeless skirt. beautiful quality and Made in Britain which is why I like Celtic & co . flattering style. I ordered 2 colours to compare and kept both .

This is a beautifully made skirt and I really really wanted it, so when my usual size 10 wouldn’t zip up I ordered a 12 and 14. Sadly both of these sizes flapped around my hips. I think the problem lies with my ageing body. Older woman, thicker waist, smaller bum etc! Recommend to anyone not as old as me!

Gorgeous skirt. Good quality. Smart looking with boots. Photos don’t do it justice. Have ordered and received another colour way. Same review for that one too.

Lovely skirt that has a good weight and feel to it. Waist slightly too big for me so sits on my hips. Ochre colour gives interest without being too bright and skirt goes with a number of different coloured tops.

I ordered the Cairngorm Heath which I admired for years. The quality of the sewing is amazing. However, the waist is significantly too large for me. I also thought that the photos of the skirt show more green than the fabric has. I am slightly disappointed, but I will wear a cotton blouse tucked in to take up the gap. As for the photo, well, the cameras, even light, are tricky.

A very nice skirt but returned as too big.

I absolutely love this skirt it's my style exactly! Size 8 fits perfectly and it looks cozy with a long Celtic & Co. jumper, high shoes or boots. I'm really looking forward to wearing it when the weather turns chilly. Great style and quality as ever from Celtic & Co. I've already got my eye on one in a different colour.

I do love this skirt, although the 8 is just slightly big so it sits low on my hips. With a jumper it looks fine. It is very well made and I am sure I will wear it alot now the weather is getting colder.

Very disappointed with this skirt. The cut is not good - on the zip side seam it flares out, whereas the other side doesn't. I ordered the 10 and the 12 to get the best fit for me - and both had this odd shape so it wasn't a one-off. I also thought the zip was very poor quality. Such a shame as it is a lovely fabric. Not the usual quality of Celtic & Co.

The craftsmanship, fabric, and quality of the skirt are excellent. However, the sizing and fit is very poor. My hips are 35 ½" and my waist is 26 ½". According to the Celtic & Co. size chart, I would have needed a US 6, and a UK 10. Therefore, I ordered a US size 6 despite my typical US size being 2. The skirt (laid flat) has a 15 ½" waist and a 20 " hip. This means it has a 31 " waist and a 40 " hip circumference. That "ease" is way more than the usual 1-inch ease. The skirt hangs on my hip bones instead of the smallest point of my waist. As a result, the skirt reaches below the knee instead of above the knee as shown in the catalog and online. When I pull the skirt up to my waist there are about 4 " of extra fabric that I can grab. The same is true for the skirt in crimson. These skirts have a UK 10 size tag. However, the two skirts, that I received, seem to be a US 14 according to their measures. I will have to have them tailored because the costs for return exceed those for tailoring. Next time I would order a smaller size.

Beautiful skirt and excellent quality. I'm 5'9 and 160pounds. Size 14 (10 Canadian) is perfect. Comfortable around the waist, just above the knees.

I love this skirt! I bought it to add to my work wardrobe. It’s well made, stylish and good quality wool. The colours are beautiful. I am usually a small size 6 so the 8 comes up a little roomy on my but not so big that I can’t wear it. I’d welcome more size 6 garments generally.

I, like Brenda, would like it a bit longer. I bought the 18, my usual size, and it’s a snug fit but I haven’t worn it yet despite buying it last season cos I’m not happy with the length. I love the tartan - I have the reddish one and would love to get a blueish one but the insufficient length puts me off sadly. Another inch would be perfect. Robyn- Elizabeth Whalley, NZ

Too short or too long - would love just below the knee - I’m 5’2”

Loved the skirt but need the next size up. Unfortunately Celtic & Co., don’t have a replacement policy which means I would have to pay out another £115 to get the larger size and wait a fortnight before my original £115 is returned. As a result I have decided to shop elsewhere for the skirt which is a great shame. Maybe something the company should think about.

This is a very useful skirt made of lovely wool fabric. I usually order a size 10 from Celtic, but had to go up to a 12 for this. It is very comfortable. The length is just long enough for me and couldn't be any shorter. I"m sure I'll wear it many times.

Hugely disappointing and poor quality for the price. The hem was not properly finished, which I would expect if it were a cheap high store garment but not something of supposed good quality. The thread was hanging and had not been securely finished. To add insult to injury, Royal Mail sent a notification claiming to have not picked it up to return when they actually did and so now I am out of pocket for £115 with no hope of the refund. I had picked out another to buy but won't be purchasing anything from this company again and definitely would not recommend it to anyone.

What a shame you dont do a size 20 or i would have bought thid

C
Catherine Edwards

I purchased this skirt in size 14 instead of 12 after reading the reviews . I am a size 12 in all other stores. So glad I did order the larger size it fits perfectly, I can took a blouse in with ease. It does not swing round. The skirt is finished perfectly and I love the inside button. I will be buying another skirt soon.

Beautiful but would like it a bit longer maybe top of knee length.

S
Sarah Topen

Absolutely love these skirts, have one in each colourway and they look great with tights and boots, and a celtic and co knit. Shame they are dry clean only, but quality is great. The colours are actually nicer I think than the online pictures, so versatile- can't wait for more colours x

Returned for smaller size.

Would love to have given this 5 stars. This is a lovely skirt and I have worn it once. Unfortunately when I fastened the zip before hanging the skirt up the lining caught it it and I was unable to move the zip without tearing the lining. Very disappointed,I believe the skirt could have a better finish to stop this happening

S
Sue Winson

Beautiful skirt but too short - if only they did different skirt lengths so sadly had to return it, but the quality was lovely.

Lovely skirt true to size. I ordered this as well as the shorter Celt Wool Kilt. Honestly, I like the kilt better, with it’s leather buckled straps and wrap around and pin. But to be fair it’s a completely different skirt. This one is great too - just different. I got the size US 6 (UK 10) which fit me perfectly. I am 5’6” at 130 lbs and 29 waist / 36 hips.

M
Mrs Helena Bowyer

I wish you did a size 6. This is a beautiful skirt but too big for me. I would like it to be slightly shorter too, but it probably would be if it were a size smaller.

C
Caroline Stuart

The Autumn tartan colours are beautiful. I love the kilt. I wasn’t sure about the fit at first. I lined up the Velcro fasteners, marrying them up exactly, but thought it seemed a bit big and didn’t sit quite right. Don’t do that, put the kilt around your waist and allow the Velcro to grab just where it wants, it doesn’t matter that every bit isn’t lined up exactly and hey presto the kilt sits perfectly on my waist, nice and straight! Hope this helps.
