Care

Hand wash only. When washing by hand, avoid twisting or wringing as this may damage the wool. Do not use fabric conditioner when washing.

To remove excess water from the garment we recommend wrapping it in a towel and gently squeezing it before leaving the item to dry. Do not put on a spin cycle.  Lay the product out flat to dry, do not hang your wool garments. Allow to dry naturally away from all artificial heat sources.

As you would expect from Celtic the quality of this cardigan is superb, so soft and warm. I wear it as an evening jacket for cooler evenings/nights. My only criticism is the funnel neck, it doesn't fit well around my neck and is better to wear the cardigan unbuttoned at the top. It also comes up big and I could have worn an extra small. I love the fact that it's made in Britain.

I was delighted with the cardigan when it first arrived, it has a beautiful pattern and generally a very flattering fit and the colour complements many others. However, having worn it a few times and now washed it, I am quite disappointed with it (especially given the usual quality of Celtic & Co products). After the first wear it was significantly covered in pills, and while I appreciate this often happens with garments made from natural fibres, I've never had it to this degree with any of my other wool clothing, from this brand or others. As it is a textured knit, using a pill comb or electric shaver is a much less appealing option as it is with a smooth-knit item. Additionally, the cardigan had relaxed and lost some of its shape which, again, I know can happen with natural fibres, but this was more than expected especially as it already comes up large. Most disappointingly, following the first wash (which I admit was in the machine rather than a hand wash - but carried out on the hand wash setting with suitable wool detergent), the cardigan came out completely felted. This was especially disappointing to see when all of the other garments in the same wash were not affected. I did reach out to customer support about this, as I've never had this happen to this degree before, and while initially they seemed supportive and like they might be able offer advice, after I sent in some photos (as requested), I received rather an abrupt email from a second CS rep that said on no uncertain terms they weren't going to offer any help. While I appreciate they are under no obligation to help as I didn't follow the direct garment care instructions So, if you are considering buying this product: - size down, it comes up large anyway and does lose some of its shape as you wear it - don't wash it in the machine, even on a wool cycle, as you will waste £100

This cardigan is beautiful, a bit big on me but I do like clothing to be a little loose. I'm so pleased that it's British wool and made in Britain

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER! I bought this sweater in late November and it was WAY too large so I returned it within the appropriate time window. The website said to wait until 3 weeks after returning to receive a refund; I did so and then reached out. It is now Mid January and I have STILL NOT RECEIVED A REFUND. I’ve tried contacting customer service and have been ghosted. It has been almost 2 months since purchasing and still no money back. BUYERS BEWARE!

Really beautiful cardigan. I love the simplicity of the stitch, it is very elegant. It is a little too big for me (size M, 167cm) but I like the slightly oversize look. Plus it fits under my coat so no issues. However after the first couple of times i also notices quite a few bobbles. My other jumpers/cardi from celtic &co don't do that. A bit disappointed as i worried the cardigan will quickly look tired at this rate and the speed at which the bobbles are formed means that i will have to remove the bobbles with a comb every time i will want to wear it. Not great for this price point

Thank you for your review. Please be aware, pilling is not a sign of poor quality and is to be expected in places where two pieces of fabric rub together, such as under the arms or the back of the item if a coat as been warn over the item. Pilling occurs more commonly in natural fibres and where they have not been chemically treated to prevent it. Regular de-pilling using either a comb or electric de-fuzzer will help to prevent this and help maintain the garment looking its best. Over time the piling will subside. Kind regards, Celtic & Co.

This is a lovely cardigan. I ordered a Medium, my normal size, but it was much, much too big for me.

I bought this cardigan size medium but it was too large, I am 1.72 metres high (the choices are only on feet?) and I returned it. As I loved how light but warm and flowing it feels I bought the smaller size which fits perfectly. The colour is natural and soft, very attractive. The pattern is subtle in spite of being all over the garment, making it elegant rather than obvious. I noticed blobs under the arms almost the first day I wore it but perhaps not so surprising as the yarn seems to have not much twist in it. Not an expert though.

Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review — it sounds like you’ve really taken the time to notice the details of the piece, which we love to hear. I’m glad the smaller size feels just right for you; our designs are often intended to have a relaxed, flowing fit, so sizing down can be a great choice if you prefer a neater silhouette. As for the little bobbles under the arms, that’s a really common occurrence with natural fibres, especially when the yarn has a softer twist for that beautiful drape and lightness you mentioned. It’s not a fault, just a natural characteristic of the fibre. The good news is that it’s easy to manage: a simple wool comb or fabric shaver will gently remove them and keep your cardigan looking fresh for years to come.

Bought for me as a gift.unfortunately small was too large. Returned the item and ordered x small. Lost out on the discount code originally applied as there was no exchange option. However, was able to apply a lesser discount on the second purchase.

A little more generous in the fit than I would have thought or than the chart suggested. Has been a bit itchy these first few wears, hoping that subsides with more wear and time.

I have only worn this cardigan a few times but it has lots of pills already and sheds fibres on dark trousers. I have bought from Celtic &Co for many years and I am usually vey satisfied

Thank you for your order with us at Celtic £ Co. Pilling occurs more commonly in natural fibres and where they have not been chemically treated to prevent it. Regular de-pilling using either a comb or electric de-fuzzer will help to prevent this and help maintain the garment looking its best. Over time the piling will subside. Kind regards Celtic & Co.

Love this cardigan - Medium (i'm a fairly standard 12) is a good length for my height - sits at hip length and the shape is roomy without being too baggy. The colour is a little more straw like than walnut I'd say - but I actually prefer it as I was a little worried about the colour - but it's perfect. The weave is lovely and warm but not heavy and dense.

Disappointing. The wool was scratchy, the fit very baggy creating a blouson effect around the hip area; the colour was not walnut like on the model but more like the sicklier version on the picture where the item is displayed on its own. The finish on the button holes was very, very poor; the overstitching was terrible - threads and wool strands were sticking out where the overstitching had not been done properly. I have bought items from Celtic & Co before and have been impressed but this was not a good product.

We are very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the cardigan. Please return this to us using the pre paid returns and a refund will of course be issued to you. Kind regards Celtic & Co.

Very very big with sleeves that are far too long to be practical. I want to support British manufacturing and producers and would have ordered a size down but need to be confident in the product and seller.

We are sorry that this was an unsuitable to ordering and offer advice on our sizing. Kind regards Celtic & Co.

Lovely cardigan, colour just a perfect brown.Good length just mid hip. Nice weave, fairly soft wool, and think made in Great Britain. Perfect fit, slightly oversize on me but not excessively, I am size 12 but 36F bust, can fasten easily no gapes. Sleeves just the right side of long. I love it, a great cozy cardigan.
