Our British Wool has a more rustic finish than our other yarns, giving it an authentic look and feel. Hardy and durable like the sheep it comes from, it will get better and better with age.

Care

Hand wash only. When washing by hand, avoid twisting or wringing as this may damage the wool. Do not use fabric conditioner when washing.

To remove excess water from the garment we recommend wrapping it in a towel and gently squeezing it before leaving the item to dry. Do not put on a spin cycle.  Lay the product out flat to dry, do not hang your wool garments. Allow to dry naturally away from all artificial heat sources.

Really poor quality, not usual for c&c. There were holes in the side and the quality just wasn’t there. Have returned

Beautiful soft wool, very fast delivery and well packaged.

A beautiful jumper that I pull out of my wardrobe repeatedly. Washes well with gentle care, and I feel it will do me well for many future years - it does pill a little but thats ok.

I usually love my purchases from Celtic&co, but this is disappointing. I bought it because it’s long, and their newest styles are a lot shorter. However, the quality is not there, the wool is rough and scratchy compared to my other Celtic jumpers, and the pilling is off the scale - large dollops of wool fell off from the moment I began to wear it. It doesn’t hold its shape when washed because the knit is loose, so be careful to dry it flat and in shape; and the dye isn’t fast, leaving a sinkful of navy blue. All in all, not the quality I expected for the price and from C&c.

Perfect jumper. I bought this recently and worried I would not get a chance to wear it until next winter- a bit over optimistic weather wise. I have worn it loads. So glad I decided to buy it. lovely colours and love the design- a bit different without being twee

The neck line was funny, which was a shame because it’s very beautiful

Well this is just the most gorgeous thing ever, and honestly is making my hobbit life dreams come true. The colours are perfectly complimented, the pattern evokes a sense of nature and the weave is light but warm. Not scratchy either. I simply adore this jumper. This is one that can easily be worn all year (well, in Scotland) and will suit everyone. True to size, very well made. A new favourire. Thank you!

Love the jumper, but the pilling is very large and all over. Have had to de-pill it several times.

Thank you for your review. Pilling is not a sign of poor quality and is to be expected in places where two pieces of fabric rub together, such as under the arms or the back of the item if a coat as been warn over the item. Pilling occurs more commonly in natural fibres and where they have not been chemically treated to prevent it. Regular de-pilling using either a comb or electric de-piller will help to prevent this and help maintain the garment looking its best. Over time the piling will subside. I hope this helps, should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, Celtic and Co.

I couldn’t be happier with this jumper. I have been resisting buying anything new, as I have plenty of jumpers, but I saw this one and couldn’t resist it. However I was unsure which size to buy. I am a size 10/12 and 5ft 4 in, I like my jumpers roomy, so usually go for medium or even large in Celtic, but I wondered if I should go for small this time, as some reviews said it comes up very big. In the end I went with my instincts and ordered medium and it is perfect, just the fit I like.

Bought with high expectations, given the price. However wool was as itchy as hell even layered the shirt/ t-shirt. Resorted to handwashing but wringing out still resulted in shrinkage. It would fit a 7 yo now. Shame as the design was beautiful. A very disappointed and disillusioned would-be supporter of locally sourced and produced goods. Happy to return item to substantiate this.

Good morning, please return this to us for assessment, you can create a pre paid returns label through our website. Once we recieve this back on of our team will be in touch with you. We apologise for any disappointment caused. Kind regards Celtic & Co.

This jumper is exactly as described - long, slouchy and made of wool! It is totally up my street, as I like my jumpers long and slouchy, and a bit of wool is no bad thing. I've worn it next to my skin without problems (my skin is neither particularly sensitive nor insensitive). I think the price is very reasonable considering that this jumper is made in the UK from British wool. This is a great selling point - locally made from start to finish, and a lovely garment.

Nice jumper but pills badly unfortunately not something I would have bought if I knew

Good morning, we are sorry that you are disappointed with the jumper, pilling occurs more commonly in natural fibres and where they have not been chemically treated to prevent it. Regular de-pilling using either a comb or electric de-fuzzer will help to prevent this and help maintain the garment looking its best. Over time the piling will subside. Kind regards Celtic & Co

Very disappointed as the sleeves are so short. I have been a faithful customer of Celtic for a very long time and one of the reasons is that the sleeves are nice and long - one can turn them back if they are too long but you can't make them longer. Sadly I have had to return the jumper.

Lovely jumper, but it does pill quite badly. Have had to spend quite a bit of time taking the fluff off.

I bought this jumper before Christmas and loved it , however almost immediately it started to shed and pill everywhere to the extent I had to vacuum up wherever I went , I have therefore returned it sadly . This is the first time ever I have sent a Celtic product back and hope this fault can e rectified .

Thank you for letting us know, and I’m really sorry to hear about your experience with the jumper. That’s definitely not what we’d expect from one of our pieces, and I completely understand how disappointing it must have been — especially as you’ve always been happy with Celtic & Co products before. Shedding and pilling can sometimes happen with natural fibres, particularly in the early days of wear, but it should settle and certainly not to the extent you’ve described. Returning it was absolutely the right thing to do, and we’ll make sure the team checks this carefully so we can understand what went wrong. Our apologies for any disappointment caused by this. Kind regards

I bought this originally in three sizes to see which fits best. The reviews all say it comes up large so go one size smaller. I wear my clothes oversized so got a M / L/ XL . I loved them as soon as they arrived and wanted to wear it straight away. In the end I couldn’t decide between the L or XL so kept both and sent the M back, and every time I wear one I get compliments. There are definitely differences in the sizes eg. Medium is smaller and closer fitting than the L. And XL is very baggy. It’s super light yet keeps you warm and I frequently only have on two layers when I wear this jumper, no need for a vest, as well as shirt and jumper. It pills easily but the pilling isn’t tight, so it doesn’t necessarily look as bad as pilling on other jumpers. Regardless of the pilling it’s my absolute favourite jumper.

Thank you for sharing such a lovely and detailed review — it really paints a picture of how much you enjoy the jumper! It’s great to hear that you found the perfect fit by trying a few sizes, and that it’s become a favourite piece in your wardrobe. Compliments every time you wear it — that’s always a good sign. You’re absolutely right about the pilling. With natural fibres, especially those that are soft and airy, a little pilling is normal, but as you’ve noticed, it tends to be looser and less noticeable than on synthetic blends. A quick go with a wool comb now and then will keep it looking fresh without compromising that beautiful texture. Kind regards

Beautiful jumper

I like the colours and style but after one wear it bobbles a lot, which may impact the longevity of the jumper.

Thank you for sharing your feedback — we really appreciate it. Pilling (or bobbling) can sometimes happen with natural fibres, especially after the first few wears, as the shorter fibres work their way to the surface. It’s quite common with wool and other soft yarns, but the good news is it’s usually easy to manage. We recommend using a fabric comb or a pilling stone to gently remove any bobbles — this helps keep your jumper looking fresh and extends its life. After a couple of de-bobbles, the fibres tend to settle, and you should notice much less pilling going forward. Kind regards

My new favourite jumper! The colours are beautiful and exactly as advertised. The wool does bobble, which I completely expected, however the bobbles come off easily. The fit is great, slouchy and comfortable. Don't size up even if you prefer roomier knits!

Ecstatic ! Over the Moon! It’s beautiful, thank you very much. The design is so unique and lovely, and the wool is actually softer than I expected this sort of wool to be. Obviously if people want a very soft fabric they can buy cashmere or angora- but this sort of look is more of a worker’s yarn, a more practical one- which is part of its beauty. That’s why it looks the way It does- and it’s fantastic! I like everything about it, including the slightly wider looser arms as they feel contemporary and relaxed, they look great. I’m very pleased. This is my new favourite item and will be worn for many years to come. What a joy. Please continue making such lovely quality items! Also it does run large but that’s perfect as that gives a bit of leeway if I ever accidentally shrink it 😆

Love the pattern and quality. I bought medium after reading the comments but I think large would have been better for length. Not washed as yet but will need to be extra careful to keep size. Beautiful jumper I love.

This caught my eye immediately with the soft collars and lovely design. I sized up knowing it came up large to get a really oversize jumper for layering so the sizing was as expected. Yes it is a bit itchy but I'd never usually wear a jumper of this type directly against the skin so not an issue. How lucky we are to still have some industries in the UK.

Would not recommend this jumper, worn twice...have not yet washed but the wool on the arms bobbles badly....not a great buy

Thank you for your review of the Botanical Jumper and we are sorry to hear you are unhappy with your purchase , the customer service team will contact you by email regarding this issue. Kind regards

Like it a loose fit so happy with a medium. I didn’t find it itchy. I always remember that wool will alter after washing, so never buy too small.

I bought this as a gift for my mum for Christmas, I asked her to try it on to make sure it fits and the small fit perfectly (she is a size 10-12). It's definitely a scratchy type of jumper, something my mum isn't bothered about, but it looks lovely on and is longer in length than some of the jumpers you get these days that just sit on your waist.

I have just received this jumper and I am very pleased. I can see and feel the quality of this garment. Light weight wool and a seamless yoke neck, it is very comfortable and warm to wear. (Admittedly, I wear it over a vest but it is comfortably warm and not overbearing). I find that the leaf design adds to its uniqueness and overall I can see and feel that this garment is well made. The blue is very subdued, not too bright. I love supporting the British wool industry. Thank you Celtic and Co.

Lovely jumper and it’s made from British wool in Britain. I find the jumper cosy, comfy and works very well.

The jumper is very rough and scratchy. It's quite long with wider sleeves. I prefer a shorter, boxy fit with more fitted sleeves. So I didn't keep it. The colours are beautiful and true to the picture.
