Part coat, part cardigan, our coatigan has found its way into our customers' hearts as the ultimate trans-seasonal layer.
Perfect for woodland walks or blowy days out on the beach, this piece has been redeveloped to celebrate 30 years since we first started turning out our premium range of contemporary pieces from our base in Cornwall.
By blending merino wool with luxurious alpaca, we've created a tweed-like yarn that breathes new life into the chunky cabled structure. A specially crafted pewter leather buckle strap helps to hold it closed at the neckline to keep you extra cosy.

Made from 83% Merino Wool, 17% Alpaca: Pure alpaca adds a higher level of luxury and softness as well as texture in the garment as it is knitted up. Combined with Merino wool you get unbelievably soft wool with a super-fine silkiness.

Write a reviewI love this coatigan. I bought it to keep me warm, whilst teaching with the classroom being well ventilated with all the windows open. It works as I'm lovely and toasty. I could not decide on the size. I'm normally uk 12. Small is roomy, just the pockets are a little high! I love the colour, sea foam that does look like the sea, different in every light. I love the cosy feel, but keep sheding bits.
I was so pleased that the stock of this coatigan was replenished as it sells out fast - a really beautiful item - the colour is lovely sort’ve very pale grey or off white with flecks of other colours. So cosy and the pewter leather buckle arrangement is a nice touch - that bit looks better in the flesh! Would really like lots more colours please!
After wearing last year’s navy version non-stop, I succumbed & bought this year’s ‘sea foam’ colourway. As the previous reviewer said, the wool is really lovely, with different flecks of colour speckled through it, the photos don’t do it justice. I’m a 12/14 & medium fits well, giving plenty of room for a thin jumper beneath. My previous one washes & dries beautifully with no shrinkage...so am hoping for the same. Really happy with my purchase.
Just got mine today and it’s gorgeous fits true to size, I would suggest you don’t go smaller even tho Celtic and co have generous sizing. The color is fab and it will go with just about any colour.. Very flattering and warm, very pleased with my purchase.
The Icon Buckle Detail Coatigan has just arrived and I had to write a review. It is beautiful; the pictures do not convey how pretty it is with the little flecks of denim blue, olive and aqua-marine in the yarn. I think the coatigan is actually pretty true-to-size. I would usually suggest sizing down but not on this occasion. I am a size 16 and the Large is perfect. The wool is lovely and soft but a tiny bit scratchy. I don't think it matters, though, as the coatigan is likely to be worn over another layer. An expensive purchase but it'll give me lots of pleasure for years to come. I can't wait for next year's version!
