Material
Our Flecked Merino Wool showcases extrafine merino fibers, 19.5 microns and under, offering a luxurious softness that's 2-3 times finer than human hair. Washing Instructions
Hand Wash only
When washing by hand, avoid twisting or wringing as this may damage the wool. Do not use fabric conditioner when washing. To remove excess water from the garment we recommend wrapping it in a towel and gently squeezing it before leaving the item to dry. Do not put on a spin cycle. Lay the product out flat to dry, do not hang your wool garments. Allow to dry naturally away from all artificial heat sources.

Pilling
Clothing made from natural fibres can occasionally 'pill'. These little balls of fibre or 'pills' are created as the smaller fibres in the twist of yarn naturally shed with wear. This will lessen as you wash and wear your garment. Until then, they can be gently removed with our Pilling Comb.

Write a reviewI love this Coatigan ~ got one in charcoal and wear it all the time, so got a blue one too! I am a size 16, and the large was a perfect size for layering over other woollens when it’s cold (my husband prefers arctic conditions in the house🙄!!!) Feels so cosy with the hood to keep out chills, which lies flat when not in use. The blue is a lovely soft blue, not a flat navy, and flatters my delicate colouring and blue eyes. With the blue and the charcoal, goes with everything! It’s just what I was looking for, and hard to find… very happy 😊
This is a fabulous cardigan in a beautiful muted cool green. I love it! I have to confess I have several now in this style and wear them outdoors and in - they are warm, smart or casual and has pockets. When I saw it was reduced in the Sale I snapped it up. I find the arms plenty wide enough for a thick jumper underneath. Recommended.
I dislike sending in somewhat negative reviews, but the price in this case warrants some discussion. I have purchased from Celtic&Co. previously. I like a somewhat looser more relaxed fit in jumpers, cardigans, and coats as layering is a must in the UK. I also know, having spent some time in the modeling industry, that the models in product photos are usually exceptionally small. Thus I always size up a bit. I am 5'8 in US standards, and am a size 4 US (8UK). I looked at all the cardigans on the website and read the reviews. I liked that this one (called a "coatigan') had a tight weave and some weight to it, looked relaxed and a bit oversized, and loved that it had a hood. My size says a small or sometimes medium depending on design, but because I will probably be wearing something with long sleeves and maybe knitwear under this, I ordered a Large (charcoal) hoping for a nice oversize comfy fit. It is a thicker yarn, and indeed tightly knit, and the subtle flecks of color give it a lovely rustic look. But in order to get the 'relaxed wear with something warm underneath' look, I could easily have ordered the XL....maybe. The sleeves are exceptionally tight from the armpit to the wrist. Wearing more than a T-shirt weight top underneath would never work, you'd not be able to get your arm down into the sleeve. It also is not as long as it shows on either model, which is not unusual but I did think the large would be a bit longer. Thinking it just needed some time to relax out a bit, and because I was so excited that it was delivered right before I needed to leave for the day, I wore it once, and when I took it off that night the underside of both sleeves had pilled up enormously, as did the sides of the body where the sleeves would brush against. It looks like I've been wearing it for years. Can I run my fabric shaver over it? Yes, of course. But for the price and only wearing it once....no. Perhaps I should have let it hang on a hanger for a few days, but I doubt it would have made a difference, and the sleeves are so tight that I doubt they will relax out at all. I had high hopes for this cardi when I saw it, as it's not cold enough yet for my Celtic Duffle Coat, but seriously, when you make a knit cardigan that you market as having more of a 'coat' like quality, give it some space in the armpits and sleeves. I've worn it and took off the tag, so it can't be returned, I doubt the XL sleeves are significantly looser, and the wool will probably also pill. It's frustrating, as I love the color, the overall knit, the warmth, and especially the hood. Some nice relaxed sleeves with more of a dolman inset would make it perfect, even with the pilling....lol....but unfortunately I need it now....!
