THE STORY
Emma’s dream of Socko began when searching for meaning in her work. She saw that her job satisfaction came when she was able to connect what she’d done with her working day with its positive impact upon others. Through combining her talent for craft with her love of people and planet, she identified her business idea: Sustainable socks. From then she went onto to offer darning workshops and teach a skill that will last you a lifetime and see you well on your way to a more sustainable wardrobe.
OUR PART
We have teamed up with Socko to offer you a one hour darning workshop where you can learn the skill of mending your clothing and ensuring it has a longer lifespan on the venture to us all becoming more sustainable. Since the outbreak of the pandemic these intimate sessions have no longer been possible so we've been working together to put all of our teaching content into this online course for you to take part in. You'll learn a skill that will last you a lifetime and see you well on your way to a more sustainable wardrobe. In addition to this we are offering you the option to purchase our Celtic X Socko Darning Kit to use this during the course.
WHAT IS IT? An introduction to darning for complete beginners. This online course is suitable for all levels of textile know-how, from those who have never threaded a needle to avid knitters.
