The Best of 2019
As we settle into what will be a very exciting year for us in 2020, we started to feel a little nostalgia for the wonderful year that was 2019.
What did we actually get up to though? Well, here is the best of 2019 here at Celtic & Co.
We Won Big At Drapers
On Wednesday 26th June 2019 Celtic & Co. founders Nick and Kath Whitworth were invited to attend the prestigious Drapers Footwear Awards 2019, held at London’s Grosvener hotel, alongside leading experts in the footwear industry in a large celebration of success. As a company we were honoured to win International Footwear Business of the Year.
As of 2019, we now have a total of 8 prestigious awards including our Queen's Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category.
We were finalist for Best British Brand at The Boutique Star Awards
We were very proud to have been finalists in the Boutique Star Awards 2019 held in London by Boutique Magazine. This event was to celebrate the best of the best of independent retailers, brands and individuals within the sector. To be classed as one of the Best British Brands for 2019 is an achievement we will continue to strive for.
We went to the Big Apple
We went on a New York adventure in September to visit the huge trade show Coterie as well as visiting lots of boutiques in the city to help us understand more about our US customers. Coterie had an array of 1,400 different exhibitors and it was nice to meet a few British brands that were exhibiting there. It was a great way for Clare & Kath to look at how we might be able to expand our brand offering further in the US.
Implemented a ‘Give Blood Scheme’ for everyone at Celtic & Co.
The NHS is always in great need for more blood donations to help maintain a steady & safe supply within the local communities & hospitals. Nick & Kath give everyone the opportunity to be able to donate within their working day with their full support. This allows everyone to continue to help do their bit to support our local community as well as helping to save a life.
In total have we have donated approximately 11 pints in 2019 with more to be donated in 2020.
We did some running…
Our Head of Finance Shaun ran the London Marathon for Children's Hospice Southwest raising £3,500.
Our E-Commerce Manager ran 2 Local Cornish Marathons plus a whopping 32 mile Ultra Run across the whole of Roseland here in Cornwall.
Our Customer Service & Sales team ran the 5K Race for Life in Truro with a £400 target but proudly raised a huge £1,109 for Cancer Research UK.
