Originally intended to keep fishermen protected against the elements, the distinctive gansey sweater has come into its own in recent seasons as a layer everyone needs in their wardrobe.
We've designed our interpretation with an easy fit and incorporated the traditional contrast stitching, adding in a stepped back hem and side slits to provide a feminine slant.
Try it with jeans and a pair of Celtic & Co. lace-up boots for a look that's ready for anything.

It's no secret that we love lambswool and, this season, we've taken it to a fresh level with our brand new yarn.
Blending pure, non-mulesed wool from Australasia with a hint of Turkish-spun cotton to bring down the fluffiness of the fibres slightly, we've created a yarn that showcases colours beautifully, keeps your body temperature at a comfortable level and is guaranteed to keep your new favourite piece going through the seasons.

Care
Hand wash only in cold water using Celtic Wool Wash. For more detailed instructions please see the care label.
When washing by hand, avoid twisting or wringing as this may damage the wool. Do not use fabric conditioner when washing.
To remove excess water from the garment we recommend wrapping it in a towel and gently squeezing it before leaving the item to dry. Do not put on a spin cycle.
Lay the product out flat to dry, do not hang your wool garments. Allow to dry naturally away from all artificial heat sources.

It’s soft and cosy without making feel to hot . Your knitwear is of exceptional quality. I started my Autumn/winter wardrobe with you last year . Beautiful jumper, lovely colour but it is rather larger than I'd expected. I understand that it is a loose fit, but the large size measures 50 inches under the arms! Perhaps you could include an actual size measurement, as sometimes large is fine and sometimes it is too big.
Ordered a Small. I'm normally an 8 - 10. Was far too big. Had to return. Don't know what's going on with sizing nowadays. Not only Celtic but other companies too. Couldn't be bothered ordering and waiting for an XS (a size I've NEVER been).

Nice jumper and will keep it but very disappointed to see the label saying “Made in Romania”. I assumed everything was British Made which prompted me to use your website.
Thank you for your review, we always try to source our items from British manufacturers but unfortunately this is not always possible and we have to use trusted European suppliers. All the items on our website have a flag next to them so customers can see where the item was made.
Very pleased with this jumper. A beautiful colour and weight. As with other Celtic jumpers I sized down. Usually 12 but small is perfect
