Designing our Products

At Celtic & Co., each of our timeless pieces are designed with a focus on longevity. Rejecting the disposability of fast fashion, our design process is firmly rooted in quality, craft, and purpose. Our core collection of shearling outerwear, sumptuous knits, and signature boots and slippers encapsulates our design ethos: to create enduring, contemporary pieces that stand the test of time.

We choose not to bring out new products every week, instead we draw on our heritage and experience to design carefully considered pieces that will move through the seasons with you. We love to layer and mix and match our pieces to give them a renewed purpose, so they can adapt to the weather and your lifestyle.

Our capsule collections, released thoughtfully throughout the year, build versatility into your wardrobe, expanding your styling options and breathing new life into treasured pieces. Getting a design just right takes time and can mean lots of samples to ensure the perfect cut. To reduce this, we utilise as much as possible the latest design technology and work from digital images instead of physical samples. This reduces waste, shipping and carbon emissions.

Once a design is finalised, we value our materials and take care to ensure that we don't create unnecessary off-cuts and waste. While we use every inch of fabric possible in our design process, there are always some offcuts that are simply too small to use. To make sure they don't go to waste, we encourage our staff to use them for craft projects, sell them on our website or we donate them to local schools or charities such as the Scrap Store.

Hand-in hand with our commitment to designing for longevity is our use of biodegradable and recyclable materials. Everything, from our yarn to our buttons and labels, is chosen to have as little impact on the planet as possible. Not only does this help minimise pollution, it also makes our products safe for those who are allergic to synthetic fibres.
