Every year, around February/March time, we set off into the wilds of Cornwall to capture our new Fall collection in the landscapes that inspired it. From rugged coastlines to moss covered woodland, here’s a sneak peek behind the scenes of one of our most eagerly awaited collections, with music from Cornish band The Grenaways...
Into The Wild Woods
We chose wild woodland as the perfect backdrop to shoot a majority of our gorgeous knitwear. The mix of earthy tones from the ferns to the towering pines, made the colour palette of our new collection really pop and stand out on our beautiful model Amelie.
The tranquil valley we found, with its bubbling stream and bird life, created a calm atmospheric setting for our photography team, although it has to be said, a few challenges still arose. When dashing to and from the Celtic van to get clothing and footwear samples, a few members of the team got a little muddy climbing the steep banks of the woodland, and Will our photographer got his feet wet when wading through the water to get that key shot of Amelie in our Celt Kilt.
Many of our catalogues have been shot down at our local beaches, only just hinting at the rugged beauty of the Cornish coastline, which is all the more breath-taking in the colder season. This year we wanted an even more dramatic backdrop to complement our stunning new outerwear pieces for Fall, so we chose the industrial landscape of the northern Cornish coast.
On an exposed cliff top, surrounded by heathland and gorse, we came across remnants of an old tin and copper mine. The colour of the brick work brilliantly off-set the hues of the heather fields and the clear blue sea in the background. Amelie worked her magic with our new sheepskin styles, energetically jumping and moving around to give the garments movement.
Everyone here at Celtic & Co is absolutely thrilled with how the photography came out for our Fall catalogue. In fact we think it is a stunner!
We hope you love the new cosy designs as much as we do and cherish them for a lifetime.
