Fall Collection 2018 - Behind the Scenes
This March, we set off into the wilds of Cornwall to capture our new fall collection in the landscapes that inspired it. From the rugged snow-covered moorlands of Bodmin to the cool open coastline of Trevone, here’s a sneak peek behind the scenes of one of our most eagerly awaited collections.
Trevone
On an crisp icy morning mid-March this year, the photography team, stylist and our lovely long-standing model Amelie headed out to Trevone Bay near Padstow here in Cornwall along with the Whitworths and their dogs in tow. Chosen for it's wide panoramic views over grey stone platforms and the cold raging sea framing the background, Trevone was going to be the setting for our fall knitwear collection. The natural muted tones of our chunky knits really stood out from the cool hues of the sea, sky and stone. The Whitworth's dogs, Alfie and Trevor, enjoyed a day away from the office, splashing round in the rock pools and keeping the team amused.
Bodmin Moor
After a brisk day shooting at the beach, it was time to move inland the following day and up to the snowy moors of Bodmin where the temperature dropped and the team were soon envious of Amelie modelling our warm shearling coats. The team hiked up to a dramatic looking granite stack called Alex Tor where the expanse of the rolling moorland circled the view point. The wintry landscape along with the cloudy white sky, created the perfect backdrop to our sheepskin outerwear range, making standout styles such as the Shearling Colourblock Coat and the Reversible Cocoon Teddy Coat really pop with colour.
After a long day freezing on the moor, the team had captured the autumn (and some of the winter) outerwear range and needed to try and thaw out and warm up. They found a perfect spot for capturing our wax jacket collection by a tranquil stream near an abandoned mine with rustic stone walls and a crumbling old chimney. As soon as the camera came out, the warming afternoon sun appeared which Amelie and the crew gladly welcomed. The shots came out perfect with a real bright, fun vibe, and really showed off the new colours of our wax jackets, especially our bold red Wax Cotton Parka.
The autumn photoshoot was very enjoyable, even though it was under freezing conditions (slightly odd for us here in Cornwall), and very successful as the photograph results are just stunning. To view the exciting new autumn collection along with their lifestyle shots, please click here.
