Every man needs one or two classic crew necks in his wardrobe. This one is made in Britain from one of our favourite yarns, fine-spun merino lambswool, which is lightweight yet insulating, so you’ll be reaching for it year round. The easy, round-neck shape and neutral colour means it can be dressed up or down and will go with everything - a great staple knit.

  • 100% merino lambswool
  • Made in Great Britain
  • Machine washable
  • Sizes: S (38”), M (40”), L (42”), XL (44”), XXL (46”)

My aim this year has been to buy British-made and/ or ethically-produced clothes. I already had a pair of the wonderful sheepskin slippers from here so I've been keeping my eye out for other bits and pieces. This jumper fits very well - I'm 5'9", medium build, and the medium is perfect - and and the quality seems excellent; hard to assess the durability - and therefore the value - at a week old, but I have high hopes for it. Despite its credentials (British-made from British wool), I wonder how many people bought one at £130. Whilst appreciating the higher costs of UK manufacturing, if you want people to buy UK goods they have to be priced competitively. But in the sale at £65, it's a no-brainer. I almost didn't buy this due to the £5 postage cost. With many of the bigger players offering free shipping - and with no way to try it on beforehand - it's a tough sell. Fortunately, it fit - but I've lost count of the times I've had to return something at my own cost because it didn't have either free postage or free returns. Again, I realise that smaller outfits don't have the volume of sales or margins which make this possible, but it's an observation. All-in-all, it's a great piece which I hope will give me many years of faithful service!
