WHAT IS MERINO WOOL?

This highly prized wool comes from Merino sheep. Originating in Spain, Merino sheep were introduced to Australia in 1797, and through selective breeding developed the super-fine authentic Merino Wool, with all its unique qualities, that we know today.

HOW IS MERINO WOOL MADE?

Merino Wool is made by spinning the fleece sheared from Merino sheep into yarn, which is then used to create our fine knit collection. Spun in Italy by two of the best yarn makers worldwide, our Merino Wool is a pioneer for quality and innovation in the spinning and knitwear industry.

BENEFITS OF MERINO WOOL

  • Merino Wool fibres have the ability to be bent, flexed and stretched in any direction 30,000 times or more without damage – retaining its shape for years. 
  • Odour resistant and moisture-wicking for maintain a comfy body temperature – making it perfect for a base layer or active use. 
  • Whilst the yarn might be imported due to the properties only being true to specific flocks around the world, many of our merino garments are then hand crafted into timeless classics right here in Great Britain.

    HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR MERINO WOOL

  • Hand wash only in cold water in our Celtic Wool Wash. 
  • Avoid twisting and wringing out water as this may damage the wool. 
  • Leave to dry naturally. 
  • Do not hang your Merino Wool garments.
